About Kappa Chi

Reaching beyond the borders of a standard philanthropy

Service

Kappa Upsilon Chi (KYX or Kappa Chi) is the University of Florida’s independent social fraternity for Christian men. The mission of Kappa Chi is to expand beyond general men’s ministry and to be a fraternity that uniquely focuses on engaging both the Greek communities and Christian communities with their outreach and involvement. Kappa Chi seeks to lead in turning out a generation of influential Christian men who will make a difference for Jesus Christ on the campus of the University of Florida and beyond.

The open motto of the fraternity is Keeping Under Christ, and that is exactly what its brothers long to do. Kappa Chi’s are involved in leadership positions around the campus and participate in UF Student Senate, UF Student Government Cabinet, Florida Blue Key Honors Society, Campus Crusade for Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Unite Now, Varsity Athletics, and much more.

Service

Kappa Chi is focused on creating a brotherhood that lifts one another up in the name of Jesus Christ. But it is in service to such organizations as Desire Street Ministries in which Kappa Chi’s attempts to live out their faith in Christ. Over Spring Break, nearly 20 Kappa Chi’s visited Desire Street to help rebuild a city still ravaged by the remains of Hurricane Katrina. “It was truly a blessing directly serving those that benefited through our philanthropy,” said Kappa Chi brother Dan Holden.
